FSC Certification

Codex Office Solutions is delighted to announce that we have been recommended for FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) accreditation. This is a great achievement for us to get this certification because we strive to be a market leader in the promotion of a greener and sustainable society. It also means that we have been recognised for all the procedures we have put in place both by our staff working tirelessly to meet a certain standard and surpass it and also by being aware of all the products and materials we source from our many indigenous and European suppliers.

The FSC Principles & Criteria (P&C) describe the essential elements or rules of environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable forest management. Something we see as being important for us as a company and for our customers.

There are ten principles setting out this vision that you must adhere to in order to be recommended for the certification. Each principle is supported by several specific criteria that provide a way of judging whether or not the main principles have been met by the company or organisation being assessed. We are delighted to have been recommended for this certification showing the standard we have reached in promoting a cleaner and more sustainable environment and helping pave the way both socially and economically through being part of this greater world-wide initiative.

The Following is the list of the 10 principles that must be met in order to qualify for this certification:

Principle 1:

Compliance with laws and FSC Principles – to comply with all laws, regulations, treaties, conventions and agreements, together with all FSC Principles and Criteria.

Principle 2:
Tenure and use rights and responsibilities – to define, document and legally establish long-term tenure and use rights.

Principle 3:
Indigenous peoples’ rights – to identify and uphold indigenous peoples’ rights of ownership and use of land and resources.

Principle 4:
Community relations and worker’s rights – to maintain or enhance forest workers’ and local communities’ social and economic well-being.

Principle 5:
Benefits from the forest – to maintain or enhance long term economic, social and environmental benefits from the forest.

Principle 6:
Environmental impact – to maintain or restore the ecosystem, its biodiversity, resources and landscapes.

Principle 7:
Management plan – to have a management plan, implemented, monitored and documented.

Principle 8:
Monitoring and assessment – to demonstrate progress towards management objectives.

Principle 9:
Maintenance of high conservation value forests – to maintain or enhance the attributes which define such forests.

Principle 10:
Plantations – to plan and manage plantations in accordance with FSC Principles and Criteria.
