This week, on our Get to Know Series, we introduce to you our Marketing Executive, Boris Geršić. Originally from the beautiful land of Croatia, Boris is 22 years old has been living in Ireland for over three years. His interest and passion for Website Design and development have made him an invaluable asset to Codex. He is optimistic, success-driven, thrives under pressure, and is a splendid team player!
Here are his thoughts on the questions we asked him-
I started my career as a Warehouse Operative. I worked my way up to the position of a Marketing Executive, which I only started this March. My responsibilities lay in managing the design and functionality of our e-Commerce store, along with analysing website traffic and behaviour.
To me, success is not about generating sales. It is the continuous improvement of the customer journey to help achieve customer satisfaction.
On another note, I think relationships are the cornerstone of living, whether they are personal or professional. So in my personal life, the most significant success is having two beautiful kids and a perfect wife who supports me in any direction I want to go. I couldn’t ask for anything more.
Currently, there are a couple of habits I’m trying to inculcate in my daily life. I am working on improving my ability to focus on one task at the time and also trying to manage my day to day work a bit better every day.
I am also trying to be consistent with exercising and healthy eating. This pandemic just made me lazier than I was before, so I’m really looking forward to re-joining the gym!
The best piece of advice I have received is that there is no such thing as a bad idea. I have learned through time that I should always consider other people’s ideas and not turn them down just because I think they are not good enough. In most cases, the “bad” ideas are the ones that eventually turn out to offer the best solution.
My go-to productivity trick would definitely be music. When I need to focus on an important task and switch off from everything, I put my headphones on and dive right into it.
Another important thing for me is to define a goal I’m trying to achieve and keep track of my tasks and progress as I go along.
I am a night owl for sure. With my kids running around and making noise, it’s sometimes hard to concentrate. So I prefer working late as everything is quiet around me and I can focus more on my work.
