Last week, we announced our Charity Partnership with Barretstown, an organisation that offers free, specially designed camps and programmes for children and families with illnesses.

Through various carefully curated activities and camps, this remarkable organisation serves as a beacon of joy for children and brings a wave of fun into their world. From arts and crafts to adventure challenges and theatrical performances, Barretstown crafts an immersive experience with laughter, friendship, and exploration. It's a place where children can set aside their illnesses and embrace the simple pleasures of childhood, all within a supportive and understanding community.

Supported behind the scenes by 24-hour onsite medical and nursing care, all children and their families avail of accommodation, food, and medical assistance at Barretstown at no cost to the family. Since Barretstown opened its gates in 1994, it has brought magic and fun to over 100,000 campers, helping rebuild the lives of children living with cancer and other serious illnesses.

To support the magic that is Barretstown, Codex is proud to close its first-ever Barretstown Fundraiser Week with a donation of €25,000, which will support 75 days of therapeutic programs for seriously ill children and their families.

Codex’s Fundraiser Week in Aid of Barretstown

To commemorate our latest charity partnership, we held a week-long fundraiser in aid of Barretstown from the 11th to the 15th of September that focused on raising funds for this vital children's charity while creating awareness of their incredible work.

The week was designed to engage our employees with Barretstown to understand how we, as an organisation, can make an impact throughout our 23/24 charity partnership.

Let's take a closer look at the exciting events that unfolded throughout the week.

Cycle 200KM for Barretstown

The fundraiser week commenced with a high-energy start as Codex employees took on “Cycle 200KM for Barretstown”. An exercise bike was set up in the office, and colleagues were invited to hop on and cycle for up to 15 minutes. The goal was to see how much distance they could collectively cover. This event not only promoted physical fitness but also encouraged participation in a fun and meaningful way.
