Grangegorman Tab Title
Codex were delighted to be appointed as the selected furniture supplier to the development of the Grangegorman site into the purpose-built DIT campus on Dublin’s northside in 2020. The development represented the largest investment in higher education in Europe to date and involved the building of the East and Central Quadrant buildings which on completion would accommodate up to 10,000 students.
Conduit Office Tab Title
Spread out over four floors, the Conduit building had to be scaled back to its original shell with all the original ceilings, partitions and flooring removed. This challenging task had to be done floor-by-floor to ensure minimum disruptions to the staff as the project was completed on a phased basis. As part of the planning, Codex needed to consider the technology requirements for the office which would impact on the layout as well as identify spaces for collaboration and creativity through the introduction of nooks, informal meeting areas and agile, unique workspaces. It was essential that the office was flexible and could adapt as the company continued to grow.
DCU Quiet Space Tab Title
Codex partnered with Dublin City University (DCU) to create a "Quiet Space" on campus, specifically designed for neurodivergent students and staff. This initiative, part of DCU's mission as the world's first autism-friendly university, addresses the needs of individuals with autism and other sensory sensitivities. The project includes sensory pods and spaces that reduce stimuli such as sound and light, fostering a more inclusive environment. This collaboration led to a 60% increase in students disclosing neurodiverse diagnoses, showcasing its effectiveness and impact on student wellbeing.

Codex worked with Ireland’s Primary Care Centres to deliver essential design and fit-out solutions that cater to both staff and patients. Their approach focused on creating functional, comfortable, and sustainable environments that support the specific needs of healthcare settings. The design includes ergonomic furniture, efficient storage solutions, and the integration of hygiene-focused materials, ensuring spaces meet high healthcare standards while also providing a welcoming environment for patients.
