Codex's Neuroinclusion in the Workplace Event

On June 11th, Codex, in partnership with Dublin Chamber, welcomed over 100 professionals from various sectors to The Alex Hotel for a morning of open dialogue, practical insights, and shared experiences on one of the most important topics in workplace culture today: neuroinclusion. Chaired by Screenwriter and Actor, Stefanie Preissner, best known for creating RTÉ’s Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope, the neuroinclusive expert session featured a powerhouse panel of thought leaders, lived-experience advocates, and neurodiversity experts to challenge assumptions, inspire action, and explore how to build more inclusive organisations - where everyone can truly thrive.

A Morning of Insight and Connection

It was an honest and engaging conversation with the panellists sharing both research and personal stories to highlight the everyday experiences of neurodivergent people at work.

Across the morning, several key themes emerged:

  • Small changes make a significant impact
Clear communication, sensory-friendly spaces, and flexibility in structure and routine aren’t expensive changes but powerful enablers of inclusion.

  • Inclusion benefits everyone
One attendee noted, “Approaches that support neurodivergent employees – accessible interview processes, flexible work arrangements, and a focus on individual strengths - are universally beneficial to all employees.”

  • It starts with asking better questions
Another attendee reflected: “Ask the question, ‘How can we get the outcome we need - while supporting you to deliver that outcome?”. Inclusion starts with empathy and flexibility, not a one-size-fits-all mindset.

What Comes Next

  • Codex’s Neuroinclusion in the Workplace Report Launch
Attendees were among the first to receive Codex’s new Neuroinclusion in the Workplace Report, co-authored by Mark Scully and Rachel O’Brien. The report provides practical steps for organisations to identify barriers, reimagine recruitment, support sensory needs, and nurture a culture of inclusion from the ground up.

If you missed the event, you can download the full report for free here.

  • Continued Commitment
Many organisations, including the British Embassy in Dublin, signalled plans to progress neuroinclusivity efforts. One attendee representing the embassy mentioned that it coincided with their “Autism Friendly Accreditation” journey with AsIAm.

  • Cultivating Culture
The next steps involve embedding the lessons from the event: tailoring recruitment, coaching leaders on flexible management, forming employee resource networks, and prioritising measurement.

Looking Ahead

Codex’s expert session on Creating Workplaces Where Everyone Can Thrive not only raised awareness but sparked real momentum. The energy and intent in the room encouraged us, and we were inspired by the number of organisations already taking steps toward meaningful change, including those working toward Autism-Friendly Accreditation with AsIAm.

Creating inclusive workplaces isn’t a one-day initiative; it’s an ongoing journey. Codex is proud to be part of this movement, and we’re grateful to every speaker, attendee, and partner who made the morning such a powerful step forward. For those who couldn’t join us, the Codex Neuroinclusion in the Workplace Report is now available, filled with actionable insights to help your organisation begin or deepen its inclusive journey. Thank you to everyone who contributed their stories, questions, and feedback. Your openness truly fuels change.
