DESK SIZES
Buying the wrong size desk can be a missed opportunity on getting your best fit or a significant inconvenience hampering your productivity. An office desk is an essential part of your work, so it is crucial to understand how your choice of office desk size works for or against you.
HEIGHT
There is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to choosing a desk. If your height is anywhere between 5’8” and 5’10”, the ideal height of a desk would be anything between 71cm (710mm) to 76cm (760mm). However, if you are shorter or taller than that height range, you may find it tough to sit and work at such a desk. Every office has employees with varied heights, so the best option would be to go for a height-adjustable desk. These desks can go as low as 55.88cm (580mm) and as high as 124cm (1240mm), providing comfort to most employees.
If you feel that your desk is too high, try raising your office chair and using a footrest to support your feet.
WIDTH
It’s important to consider the width of a desk and surface space it offers, especially when it comes to what the user’s requirements are i.e can the desk fit a computer monitor (or a laptop), keyboard, a writing area, a lamp on some occasions or additional storage underneath? Below are a few of the standard widths our desk are available in:

Wood
Natural wood is considered to be the best material for any desk. It is usually reliable and comes in a variety of shapes and colors including Oak, Beech, and Walnut. Wood requires proper care and, in some cases, can be really expensive so is best suited for exectuvie desking.
Laminate
A great in-between option for a real wood look is veneer or laminate. These materials are durable, easy to clean and perfect for busy workspaces in the office. They provide a rich look to your space minus the high cost.
Metal
Most of our desks feature metal framework which creates a highly stable desk that is great for industrial aesthetics.
Glass
The work surface of a glass desk is usually made of tempered glass to prevent shattering. The framework can be metal or wood. Glass desks are easy to clean, but show fingerprints and dirt quickly.
STANDING DESK VS SITTING DESK?
Everything is great in moderation, and the same goes for sitting. If
you don’t get out of your seat much during your regular workday,
you’re doing more harm to your body than good. Between sleep,
relaxing, commuting and working, we spend an average of 9 hours
sitting down. Research links sitting for extended periods to
clusters of health risks like blood pressure, excess body fat around
the waist, and cardiovascular disease.
Therefore, a sit-stand desk is a perfect option if
you lead a sedentary lifestyle. It reduces aches and pains, gives
you a chance to increase your metabolism and has a ton of health
benefits!
WHY CHOOSE A SIT-STAND DESK?
- Research shows that employers who provide their staff with well-designed ergonomic furniture see an average productivity increase of 18%.
- Using a sit-stand desk has been proven to help prevent and reduce: back pain, muscle probelms, poor circualtion and heart risks.
- An adjustable office desk allows users to work at the optimum height for maximum comfort and health.
