Growing a Greener Future: One Tree Planted for Every Desk Sold

We are growing a greener future at Codex! Last year, we planted 4,915 trees in Tanzania, with one planted for every desk sold.

Now more than ever, it is hugely important that we focus on efforts to protect the world we live in. We are committed to doing everything we can to help the environment, to the extent that improving our environmental performance is a fundamental part of our business strategy.

When sourcing the best quality office products and services for our customers, we carefully consider our partnerships and the environmental impact they will have.

That is why we work with office suppliers who, like us, look for ways to give back to the wider community. By doing so, we proactively address climate change and environmental protection through initiatives such as Plant-A-Tree (PAT).

Plant-A-Tree for a Greener Future

The Plant-A-Tree initiative is a campaign to increase the number of trees worldwide. The idea behind the initiative is to encourage individuals, organisations, and communities to plant trees to combat deforestation, climate change, and environmental degradation.

One tree is planted through the Global Climate Institute for every desk sold. GCI is a global project that aims to promote and create new and innovative green solutions and environmental projects worldwide.

The initiative recognises the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance and providing countless benefits such as clean air, water, and soil. Trees also provide habitat for wildlife, absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and help mitigate the effects of climate change.

These trees are given to different people, families, and organisations like churches, clinics, and schools. The distribution of different tree species serves as a source of fruit, fence, nitrogen fixation, fuel, animal feed, and medicinal.

Why Tanzania?

Tanzania has one of the greatest deforestation rates in all of East Africa. This deterioration significantly impacts rural areas and leads to significant food uncertainty in a nation where woods normally contribute to the national economy.

Fortunately, planting trees turns out to be one of the most adaptable and affordable ways to enhance the quality of life for people who live in underdeveloped areas, as the trees will last for decades and provide food, medicine, shade, firewood, carbon absorption, environmental improvements, habitat for wildlife, and benefits to the global climate.

At Codex, we are committed to positively impacting the environment, and our plant a tree initiative is one way we do that. When you purchase an office desk from us, you support an initiative to plant new trees in Tanzania, establishing tree cover and woodland in rural and urban areas that will grow for many years and provide valuable resources, beneficial ecosystem services and a legacy for future generations.

Support sustainability and help us create a healthier, more beautiful environment for everyone to enjoy. Open a Codex Account today or contact us at sales@codexltd.com if you require product recommendations or pricing!
