Emily Harnett Featured in InBusiness Magazine: Inclusion by Design
Codex’s Head of Marketing, Emily Harnett, has been featured in the Spring 2026 edition of InBusiness Magazine, where she discusses the importance of listening to employees when creating more inclusive workplaces.
In the interview, found on pages 20-21 and titled “Inclusion by Design”, Emily speaks with Jennifer McShane about her career journey, the connection between marketing and psychology, and Codex’s growing focus on workplace experience and inclusion.
A key theme throughout the interview is the importance of involving neurodivergent people directly in conversations about workplace design. Emily highlights that -
“Meaningful change does not always require large-scale redesign or major investment. Often, the most valuable first step is simply asking employees what they need and listening to their experiences”.
The feature also explores Codex’s work in neuroinclusive workplace solutions, including research carried out with 220 neurodivergent employees across Ireland and the UK. These insights helped inform the development of practical solutions such as the Balance Booth, a custom acoustic booth designed with sensory needs in mind.
Emily also discusses the challenges of traditional open-plan offices and the importance of creating flexible, adaptable spaces that support different ways of working. Quiet areas, focus zones, sensory awareness, and open communication can all play a meaningful role in helping employees feel supported.
As Emily notes in the article, simple actions such as gathering feedback, encouraging communication, and investing in awareness can have a meaningful impact.
