Codex was established in 1979 by my father, Brendan Murphy, who felt there was a gap in the market for reliable - and service driven - office products. Beginning as a one-man operation, Codex had humble roots, but a clear and steadfast ambition; to offer customers great value on their day-to-day office supplies, and an unbeatable local service.

Over the past 40+ years, we have been steadily building on the core values that got us started - ambition, customer first, innovation, integrity, and belonging. Today, we employ over 85 team members around the country, with an annual turnover of €30+ million. This success has not happened by chance, but rather through hard work, dedication and teamwork.

After 10 years working in different facets of the business, I took charge as Chief Executive Officer in May 2019. The office industry has changed substantially in recent years, and my role focuses on responding to this change by re-shaping the company where necessary, so that Codex can continue to remain a successful and sustainable business for the next 40+ years.
